ARTIST STATEMENT
My work investigates the ephemeral patterns of the natural world and the ways shifting light shapes perception over time. Drawing on Abstract Expressionism, Impressionism, and the Color Field movement, I work in layered paint and mixed media to construct surfaces that balance control and spontaneity, where gestures accumulate and recede, and forms hover between presence and absence.
These compositions reflect cycles of growth, the passage of time, and the ephemeral qualities of experience. Traces of landscape and botanical forms emerge but resist fixed interpretation, dissolving into rhythm, color, and light, creating a perceptual field that engages memory, attention, and sensory awareness.
Rooted in the experience of motherhood and an awareness of impermanence, my paintings invite contemplative engagement with the subtle, ongoing patterns of life, revealing the interconnectedness of perception, memory, and emotional resonance.
